An interview with lead singer and guitarist Chris Vos of The Record Company
An interview with lead singer and guitarist Chris Vos of The Record Company
The Record Company to perform at Space Ballroom on May 25th

One thing about spreading the news about concerts is finding new bands to listen to. One of my new favorite bands is called The Record Company. Their name caught my attention when I opened up the press release from Space Ballroom, then a few weeks later I heard from their publicist. I couldn’t say no to a conversation with them and needed to know was their name had something to do with records or something else.

I spoke with the lead singer and guitarist of The Record Company, Chris Vos earlier today and the first thing I asked him was about their name. How did they come up with the name The Record Company? Vos told me it was over a bond between himself and the band’s bassist’s vinyl collection. It was also a mixture of music he listened to thanks to his parent’s love of music that influenced him to start a band.

The Los Angeles based band is not your typical modern rock band. Inspired by Muddy Waters, Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Springsteen, and The Rolling Stones the band loves to put on a rock and roll show. Giving their all at each show and opening the show open to everyone. “.. our fans, the people that come, they’re very friendly people, they’re very inviting people and they, they are across the spectrum. I mean, we, we have, I’ve seen seven-year-old kids on this tour. I’ve seen 17, I’ve seen 27 and I’ve seen 70.” he said.

While in conversation with Vos we discussed how their new album is coming out over the summer and I asked him what is next and he said touring nonstop. He’s looking forward to interacting with fans again. He misses being around the fans and visiting them around the merch table.

The Record Company might be an up-and-coming indie rock band, but they have an old soul with a desire to keep rock n roll alive.

They are performing a sold-out show on May 25, 2023, at Space Ballroom in Hamden, Connecticut.
