Goodbye to all of the stores I spent money in during my teen years. Over the years stores have come and gone, but this time-space will be gone forever and will most likely be land that holds some type of housing.
The mall I shopped at since the early 90’s, then hung out at with friends, and worked at for a few years. It became a meeting ground for friends, it was once held the art of students throughout Phillipsburg school district (and surrounding towns) not to mention the other community activities that went on throughout the year.
Lehigh Valley Live is reporting that the mall will be torn down within days. 1200 US 22 will never be the same without you. It’s been years since I have passed the mall, but I know it will be weird the next time I do and a familiar building will no longer be there welcoming me back to the area. As it did for so many years.
It’s like saying goodbye to a lifelong friend. I always thought the mall would always be there.
