A year ago today, I stood on the banks of the Saugatuck River and took this photo. At the time, I didn’t know anything was going to come from this photo. I figured I would put one of the photos on Instagram. And I did, a few days later, Westport Local and Connecticut.pics featured it. Little did I know then, I would be looking at this photo, or the elements in this photo almost daily but in vector form. This is the image I use for the Finding Westport logo. When I was designing the logo, I knew what I wanted, I had the image in my head of some scene of Westport and “Finding Westport” in a cursive like font. I decided to try this photo first, and I’m glad I did. The logo itself didn’t take that long, the longest element was finding a font that I liked.

This photo changed my world. I have met so many wonderful people since starting Finding Westport and almost a year later, I can’t picture my life without Finding Westport. It was one of those moments where I was at the right place, at the right time I will always be thankful for that.
