I had this idea a few weeks ago about Crayola opening a store in Downtown Westport. I feel its perfect for them, Fairfield County is very kid friendly, Westport lacks a creative store (that I know if anyone, feel free to correct me), and it would be perfect tourism to get people in downtown. Here is the post from Finding Westport.

Hello Crayola

Fifteen years ago, I was living around the corner from your Centre Square location in Easton, Pennsylvania. I was living above Antonio’s on 3rd Street. It was during the renaissance of Downtown Easton. I remember how the city was and how people were hesitant to visit Easton, especially downtown, due to the issues the city was having. Westport is fortunite not to have the issues that Easton once had, but I watched as you were apart of changing the enviroment of their downtown scene.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago. I was listening to a podcast and the show I was listening to had a guest who was a parent of a special needs teen who works at the Crayola Experience in Texas. I thought that was amazing that Crayola does that – I used to work with people with disabilities when I worked in the Lehigh Valley. My curiosity was piqued after the interview I heard about Crayola’s locations and saw Crayola has locations in Florida, Minnesota, Missouri, Texas, and of course, Pennsylvania.

As I was walking downtown Westport a few weeks ago, I realized Crayola should have an experience store in downtown Westport.
Here’s why:
1. It is close to I-95 and Merritt Parkway. People are always passing through southwest Connecticut.
2. Westport, Connecticut to Easton, Pennsylvania, is 132 miles, a 2-hour, 20-minute drive. You could advertise in both NYC and Boston markets and make this store much different than the Easton location to bring people to the Easton store and vice versa.
3. Westport, Connecticut, and most of Fairfield County are very family-friendly environments.
4. Westport is also environmentally friendly, the first in the United States to pass a town lawn banning single-use plastics. This location, 177-179 Main Street, is located in downtown Westport. A combined area of 3,330 square feet gives you the opportunity to have a store upstairs and a crafts area downstairs. The small patio area outside would be perfect for meet and greets, a Crayola statue, or a space for outside activities.

Your neighbors could be Savvy & Grace, Talbots, Rye Ridge, Made Well, J.Crew, Brooks Brothers Women, Gap, Athleta, Lululemon, Blue Mercury, West Elm, Pottery Barn, Loft, Tiffany’s and many more!

What do you say Crayola? How about having a location here in Westport!
